If you have this operating system, use this version of Sandvox:

Sandvox 2.5 and up

• An Intel Macintosh computer.
• Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" or higher.

The current version of Sandvox is not compatible with earlier versions, including 10.5 (Leopard), 10.4 (Tiger), 10.3 (Panther), or 10.2 (Jaguar); see below for compatibility using older versions of Sandvox.

• An internet connection fast enough to handle the amount of data you will be uploading. (In other words, we recommend that you have a good, fast Internet connection if you are going to be publishing a large website.)

Mac OS X 10.10 "Yosemite"

All features of Sandvox are available, when running in normal 64-bit mode. If you have checked Sandvox to run in 32-bit mode, certain features such as sharing will not be available.

Mac OS X 10.9 "Mavericks"

All features of Sandvox are available.

Mac OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion"

All features of Sandvox are available.

Mac OS X 10.7 "Lion"

All features of Sandvox are available.

Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard"

Fully compatible; Lion specific features such as full screen mode and versions are not supported.

Sandvox 2.0 and up (before 2.5)

• An Intel or PowerPC Macintosh computer. (Sandvox is a Universal Application).
• Mac OS X 10.5.7 "Leopard" or higher

This version of Sandvox is not compatible with earlier versions, including 10.4 (Tiger), 10.3 (Panther), or 10.2 (Jaguar); see below for compatibility using older versions of Sandvox.

• To use graphical titles Sandvox requires a Quartz Extreme-capable Mac. Please see this Apple Support article for details.
• An internet connection fast enough to handle the amount of data you will be uploading. (In other words, we recommend that you have a good, fast Internet connection if you are going to be publishing a large website.)

You will need to set GateKeeper security settings to allow applications from "anywhere".

Browser Compatibility

Sites published by Sandvox are viewable with almost any web browser, although there are two small caveats:

• Graphical Titles and PNG images are not properly viewable in Internet Explorer 6 and earlier due to an Internet Explorer bug. To compensate, graphical titles are replaced with plain text for visitors using Internet Explorer 6 and earlier.

  Please see "My site looks different when viewed with some web browsers" for further details. Both graphical titles and PNG images will appear correctly in Internet Explorer 7 and up.

• If a site visitor's web browser does not support CSS (all modern web browsers support CSS), only the textual content and basic images from the site will appear. It may be helpful to include a link on your site to the latest version of Internet Explorer to allow visitors to download it so that your page may be viewed as intended.

Older Versions of Sandvox

The previous 1.x version of Sandvox is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" but you must be updated to 10.4.11; It is also compatible with newer versions of the operating system as well.

To function on 10.7 Lion, or any of the other operating systems in which Safari 5.0.6 (or higher) has been installed, you must update to Sandvox version 1.6.10.
