SV goes really slow after the last two updates (2.6.1)

Since the last two updates SV sometimes moves at a crawling speed. I try to input text and it takes forever. I do have a bunch of Safari windows open and a few applications running, but something has definitely changed.  I'm have MacPro 2.8 Quad running 10.7.4 with 12 GB ram. At one point I thought I knew what the problem was.  I had two SV files opened at once. I quit the one I wasn't working on and it fixed it for about 30 minutes. Then it has resumed to a crawl.

I'm still getting this crawl phenomenon. I have to quit SV to get it to stop crawling. So the symptom is type and it renders the letters very slowly. I've only seen this after the last two updates. Has anyone else seen this?

I'm seeing the same thing here. Type a word and then get a cup of coffee while I wait for it to appear. Ok, maybe not that bad, but it does occur. Not all the time, or with every word, but enough to be annoying. I'm not at home right now, and don't remember all of the specs of my iMac, but it's pretty new--about a year and a half--pleanty of RAM and about 400gb of space left; I'm running 10.6.8. No similar issues at all with any other program. I only had one SV file open when this occured.
