I am trying to put a Comments Section on my blog page. I set up an account with disqus.I pulled down "choose a comments provider" from the file menu. I entered the "short name" I had chosen.
Now what? Nothing is happening and I'm not sure what else I am supposed to do. Will there be a comments section on my page or is there supposed to be a link to disqus or what.
I have to say that I am finding the Support for Sandvox a lot less than what I am used to with iWeb. The FAQ and the Sandvox Help are minimal at best. I can't even find a link to these forums on the home page of Karelia. It is discouraging.
Any help on the Comments Section would be much appreciated.

Is there a way to test Disqus comments with an "Export"-ed site? I set up Disqus comments and I even get the words "Disqus comments" on my BLOG page but there's nothing else and no place to enter comments. I'm not ready to make my site public so didn't want to publish yet. But want to make sure the comments work. Thanks.

That's all that will show up in Sandvox on your computer. You need to go to disqus website and see if your account is up and running there.

I have the same issue: I open account with Disqus and properly configured Sandvox. On the Blog page there is "Disqus Comments". When I published - there is no such thing.
Something is missing - but what?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

After you configured, did you click on the OBJECT tab in Inspector and finish the last steps?

What should I select as an object? I highlighted "Disqus Comments" - it is not an object.

Do I need to bring something from Disqus?

Sorry, maybe I am remembering wrong. It seems like I had to do something with Object, but perhaps not.
If you set up your account with Disqus…I changed to Intense Debate btw because Disqus stopped working for me… and you went to the Page/ appearance tab in Inspector and did the setup and it shows up on the unpublished blog then I don't know.
Did you try refreshing the page in browser after publishing?

yes, I did a few times.
Thanks for helping.

I tried to use IntenseDebate Comments - same results (no luck).

I guess you must be leaving something out. Hopefully someone will pop up with the solution.
You have read through all this?
Sandvox integrates with a number of well-known third-party commenting systems to provide site visitors with the ability to leave comments on your site. If you wish to support comments, you can choose from one of the following providers on a per-site basis:
Disqus
IntenseDebate
Facebook
Each of these providers have advantages and disadvantages to their particular approach, look, and user experience. You may want to study the differences between them, and do some experimenting, before settling on a comment provider for your site.
To enable comments on your site:
From the File menu choose 'Configure Comments Provider…'
Select the provider from the Comments Provider popup.
Enter the appropriate ID:
For Disqus, enter the “short name” of your site as registered to your Disqus account.
For IntenseDebate, enter your account ID (a very long string of letters and numbers) corresponding to “idcomments_acct” in IntenseDebate’s “generic install” instructions.
For Facebook, enter your App ID.
Click the Done button
You must then enable comments for each page you wish to allow them on. (Sandvox automatically enables comments for certain pages such as those in a blog.)
To enable comments for a particular page:
Select the page or pages in the Site Navigator.
Open the Page Inspector to the Appearance tab.
Check the “Comments” box.
Index pages show “comment count” of entries automatically, with a link to the full entry, for all comment systems, rather than showing all comments in-line. Comments are now seen only in the complete weblog entry page.
Troubleshooting
In some rare cases with Disqus comments is will appear if some of the text is overlapping. To fix this log into your Disqus account and change the theme that it is set to. You would change it under Settings, Appearance.

I have changed to IntenseDebate and found on their site "Install" - I will try it. Looks like there some installation should be done on the provide's site. I will try it wit Intense.
Thank you for help.
