Sandvox 2.5 now available for Lion and Snow Leopard

Sandvox 2.5 is now officially released and is available immediately for download.

You can grab it using Check for Updates or download a fresh copy directly from sandvox.com. For Mac App Store customers, please check the Updates tab in the App Store app.

Here are the complete release notes:

Mac OS X

• Requires Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 or later

• Adoption of Lion's new features including:

  • Full screen mode

  • Documents are automatically saved for you, and previous versions can be browsed

  • Improved responsiveness during saving

  • Upon quitting and relaunching, all windows restore exactly as you left them

Objects

• Brand new Slide Show index

• Photo Grid supports displaying captions derived from each page

• Improved compatibility with .m4v files

• Amazon List supports Italian, Chinese and Spanish stores

• Corrects position of RSS badge icon in some configurations

• Improves layout of Contact Form labels

• Placeholders:

  • Corrects appearance of YouTube when no video has been chosen

  • For certain websites that do not support being embedded in other websites, Sandvox displays a placeholder

  • Corrects appearance of Raw HTML placeholders

• Fixes a crash choosing a file to insert

Publishing

• Once publishing completes, it's easy to let your visitors know using:

  • Facebook

  • Twitter

  • LinkedIn

  • Email

• Overhauled publishing engine for speed and reliability

• If added to the home screen on an iPhone or iPad, home pages display their thumbnail as specified in the Page Inspector

• Publishing Transcript is more readable and can be included when sending feedback, to help us track down problems

• Resolves a crash during publishing

Welcome Window

• Hit the space bar for a Quick Look preview of the selected documents

• Drag a document onto the welcome window to open it

• Recent documents can be dragged to other apps (such as the Finder); control-click to Show in Finder.

Text Editing

• Footers support custom alignment

• Fixes glitchy layout while dragging inline objects

• Resolves a crash choosing a file to insert

• Addresses issues with editing, including dragging or pasting content in

Designs

• Blueprint supports dropdown menus

Other Changes

• Control over viewing page HTML has moved to the Develop menu (has to be enabled in Preferences)

Please note that if you are still on OS X Leopard we will continue to support Sandvox 2.2 with updates in the future.
