What are the Facebook July 2013 Breaking Changes..

to the "Like" apps. Does anyone have any idea what the following might mean? And specifically... how do you follow the 'confirm' dictates of the following message.. there isn't a word about how to do so.

"Your app, Kerman Youth Football has not enabled the migration for the July 2013 Breaking Changes.
Once you have confirmed your app is compliant or unaffected by the July 2013 Breaking Changes, set the migration setting to "Enabled" in the Advanced section of the App Dashboard. This will apply the July 2013 Breaking Changes to your app and prevent you from receiving future alerts about these changes.
Kerman Youth Football, is currently using the following deprecated features:
Social Plugins (Like Button, Like Box) without absolute URL's in their `href` parameter.
These changes will be permanently enabled for all apps in 51 days on Wednesday, July 10, 2013."

Vertical iphone video

I have several vertical iphone videos. They play perfectly in iPhoto. When I publish them in Sandvox they are smushed into a horizontal video. Nothing is turned, just smushed down. How do I publish it as a vertical portrait type video? (Yes, I do need to shoot all videos in the horizontal mode in the future - haven't taken many & I goofed and held phone wrong way)

Desparately need help!! Filezilla

I am trying to upload a new sandvox site using Filezilla, there is currently an old website hosted at my URL that I have not deleted yet, as I don't want to delete it until I am sure I can upload the new site. The web host tech doesnt understand that I have no clue what I am doing, have never used an FTP program before, and I need to be walked thru this step by step, if someone could help me I would so appreciate it. Sandvox tech hasnt been able to help me either.
I built a site for my friends, and so it is their web host, when I published my first Sandvox site, I sen it to my old host, hit publish and away it went, so right now I am frustrated and beat!
Any help would be appreciated! I have downloaded filezilla and the host tech keeps telling me there should be files on the left side of the page but there are none and I dont know how to get my site folder into filezilla.

Publishing to GoDaddy

Automatters,

The good news is that you can go to Karelia's site and download a trial of Sandvox and try it. The trial will only publish up to 5 pages (I believe), but otherwise will be fully functional. My advice to you is:

1. Download Sandvox and install it on your computer.
2. Create a simple front page that's different than your current site. Don't do any more work on your site in Sandvox.
3. See if you can configure it to upload to your site on GoDaddy. If you need help, contact Karelia support or come here. If you're successful—you've conquered the first issue of configuration.
4. Reload your original site (if you need it online).
5. Run the Sandvox extraction tool and see what you get. I promise you it won't be perfect, but it'll probably give you a base to work from
6. Start to build your site in Sandvox and see what you think of the software. If you like it, purchase it and the 5 page limitation will go away.

The questions regarding transferring from your current site to Sandvox concern custom functionality that you might have that Sandvox doesn't replicate. But if you're just simply working with text and images, you should be in pretty good shape. Sandvox doesn't do tables natively, so if you had a huge amount of table based stuff, you might be disappointed. But I'd suggest that you try it and see if you like the gestalt.

With regards to Squarespace, I'm not sure about negatives. Sometimes browser based web applications are a little clunky compared to native client applications (like Sandvox). Squarespace probably is a bit more expensive than what you're paying for GoDaddy, and if you've prepaid for a while, you'd lose that chunk of money if you switched (I'm assuming that you have to host with Squarespace, and I don't actually know if that's true).

I didn't read close enough…I did "Get Info" on my website file not the Sandvox app. When I pointed to the Sandvox app I was able to change to 32 bit mode. It's only a temporary workaround though. Would like to find a way to get the plugins updated or find an alternative.

In fact this is what I'd been doing up until now--just linking to a new page with full-browser pano. But for a special project I wanted to embed it. I'm delighted that it's not as thorny as I'd imagined.

I've 'Optimized for Retina' and uploaded everything, but I don't have a retina display to check it out—so you're more than welcome to do that.

I'd be interested to know about the embedded jAlbum galleries (the galleries menu) as well. I don't know if jAlbum does anything special to handle retina displays (I don't think so, but...)

Facebook 'like' Button not appearing

Were you able to register your site with Facebook so you can obtain an App ID? The App ID is required to have Facebook in the Sharing Bar and to use most of the features of the standalone Facebook button. You can refer to the Facebook registration and the sharing services configuration help pages.
