I'm currently using the Mac 10.6.8 OS and was wondering if your new Sandvox 2 is geared toward Mac Lion 10.7 only. I'm trying to figure out why I'm having so many different problems with your 2.2.3 version as compared to the 1.6.10 version I used before with no problems at all. Please advise. Also, answers to previous problems would be appreciated.

Joseph: Thanks for backing me up on this. I'm about to ask for a refund too. Today I couldn't even add a simple text page and my Facebook codes don't work at all now and my Opt-in sign up box is now thinner and flush left, with no way to fix. In version 1.6.10 I never had any of these problems. And I've yet to do anything complicated! The problems I've encountered so far should be simple to do, like add a text page, move Pagelets (Objects) up or down, make changes to the footer, edit HTML to center Opt-in boxes, etc. And why does a new Object (photo) go to the Top of the sidebar rather than the bottom as before? And why not arrows to move them up or down as before? When I grab and try to drag an Object to the bottom of the page it springs back to the top again. ? And why do you have to unclick "Activate All Links" each and every time you want to make a small change to an Object? Seems like a lot more steps to do things that were so very simple to do before. Oh well ...

Heather:

Thanks for the reply. I have some things working now but still can't move photo objects in sidebar up or down. When I click and try to drag it just snaps back to the top. And why do all new objects go to the top? Before they were added to the bottom, which made more sense. Also, the opt-in mentioned above is still flush left. Again in the older version this was never a problem because you simply selected the object and clicked Format/Center. Very simple. The size of the opt-in boxes are thinner than before too?? Any ideas? I changed the width in the HTML code to "auto" but the Opt-in sign up box remains the same.

When going from Sandvox 1 to Sandvox 2 there are quite a few changes in the program; things work a bit different now.

For the image, when you click on a title and hit delete, it will remove the title. For the object itself it sounds like you have 'make all links active' checked in the link inspector (the tab with the blue circle with the arrow in it), you would just uncheck that box to edit that object.

When moving from Sandvox 1 to Sandvox 2, Sandvox 2 does try and clean up all of the old code that was left behind from many edits in Sandvox 1.
In this case it sounds like all of your text is being moved to the left.
You should be able to highlight that text and then center it (Format menu > Text > Center).

To move sidebar objects up and down you would just click and drag them.

You do not have to convert all of your sites at once.
You can run Sandvox 1 and Sandvox 2 at the same time while you are working on updates.

I give up with the new upgrade 2.2.3!! Too many problems to list. I have 14 sites and upgraded 4 (12 hours!) before going back to my old version. These problems didn't exist in older 1.6.10 version. For instance, www.epburke.com, you can see that the Opt-In sign up form is not centered. I tried everything suggested here but it is still flush left. Before it was a simple matter of clicking and then go to Format/Center. But not now, even if you add
to HTML code.
Also, look at http://www.epburke.com/about_the_author.html and you'll see I added 3 OBJECTS (Pagelets before) near the bottom left. The last one (SRQ) I tried to delete but couldn't. Writer's Magazette object I am unable to edit the URL. When I click on these added objects only the top title has a border around it. (Not the entire image as before) So when I click delete, only the title disappears. Because the photo image now has a URL you can't click it without being sent to the URL address. So how do you delete or edit it if I can't highlight it as before? Command-4 now shows everything dim so I can't make any changes. This is just one site with such problems. Who knows what other problems await me. I've been a loyal Sandvox user for years but this new upgrade just doesn't make sense to me. Also, I could move pagelets up and down easily before by clicking the up/down arrows, but not now. Other problems include not being able to edit text in footer, crashes when upgrading some sites, my Designs harder to find, right side of Opt-in form on seniorgolfers.info cut off. and all Facebook codes don't work in new version, etc etc. Please advise.

Using the Metrics inspector to adjust the size to 'auto' does not work in my case since there is no actual picture or graphic involved (it's called from the JavaScript). I suppose I could embed a picture object instead and make it an HTML link - I'm guessing that would work and I might try that, still wondering if someone knows what code to embed with the javascript syntax though to make this work.

I could use some help on Sidebar centering issues too. I've inserted a Raw HTML (Javascript) object in the sidebar that I'm trying to get centered. Tried inserting some div style code like you indicated above but that didn't work. Is it possible to center a javascript generated item? I'm assuming whatever additional custom code gets entered still has to fall between the two span tags, right?

Here's what I tried to do that didn't work:
<ins>

</ins>

What I'm trying to center is the Griffin link as shown at the bottom right of this page
Thanks for any insight you can provide on getting this to work. It would be really nice if SV had an option in the Inspector > Metrics window or elsewhere that would handle the alignment for you by clicking on a 'left', 'right', 'center', 'justify' option...

You may need to use the Metrics inspector (command-4) to adjust the size to fit properly. I set width to auto (essentially the same as 0, but means use whatever space is needed) and a height of 150 and it worked perfectly for me. Here is my test site which I'll leave up for a few days:

<http://web.me.com/terrencetalbot/ctest/blog/>

Keep in mind that this is a raw HTML object, so it takes up that whole block in the sidebar. To get it to be perfectly centered, you need to add some raw markup. What I did was surround your script in a div tag with a style command to center it.

So:

STUFF FROM WIDGET CREATION SITE

or (I pulled this directly from the raw source of your site)

Get the Countdown Creator Pro widget and many other great free widgets at Widgetbox! Not seeing a widget? And be sure to hit Update Preview in the raw editor to see it center itself.
